Ingredients:
3 Eggs
3 tablespoons of Water
300gr (11 oz) of Flour
300gr (11 oz) of Honey
Vegetable Oil
Break 3 eggs and add 3 tablespoons of water. Beat them together.
Gradually add flour into the mix. Knead the dough. The dough shouldn't be sticky.
Roll the dough. Be sure not to roll it too thin. Next, cut the dough into pieces as big as you want your bawirsaq to be.
Next, pour vegetable oil into a frying pan and fry the dough pieces until they turn golden brown. Move your finished fried dough into a bowl.
Let the fried dough cool. While your dough cools, warm up the honey. There are a few different ways to do this. The way I warmed mine was by boiling water in a pot. Once the water begins to boil, turn off the heat. (If your honey is not in a glass jar, you can pour it into a mason jar) Carefully lower the jar of honey into the hot water and stir it with a spoon. It helps to hold the jar with some tongs (you will also need these to get the honey jar out.) When the honey is thin enough, take it out (using your tongs), and pour the honey onto the fried dough. Start mixing them.
With wet hands, mound up the bawirsaq into a mountain. Don't worry about the pieces getting stuck together.
Traditionally you eat bawirsaq with your hands (but it is ok to use a fork if you don’t like honey on your fingers).
